The Autechre Song Titles Wiki [11 Mar 2010|12:19pm]

bluelotusfeet
I'm sure you folks know of this site:

http://autechre.wetpaint.com/

I've never really took the time to figure the meaning of the titles so I found it kind of fun.

quote:

reniform puls:
Originally titled "kidney bean". "reniform" means kidney-shaped, "pulse" means (in addition to the usual meaning) bean or legume.

Autechre Live Radio on the web TODAY [23 Feb 2008|07:11am]

license
Hey guys! Sorry I'm bogarting this journal. Actually I'm not, someone needs to keep this thing updated with fresh news.

For those of you that missed the Myspace bulletin, here's another chance for you to be made aware that Autechre is having a radio broadcast at 8 PM GMT today.

Just check the official site, which states that an m3u stream will appear when the broadcast begins.
http://autechre.ws/

I'll try to record it but inevitably something will go wrong and it'll be in mono, 11 kHz and it'll be missing the first 10 minutes, and there will be weird glitches all over.

More Quaristice news & info... [31 Jan 2008|07:31am]
license
If you haven't heard already, Quaristice is available for download on Bleep. There's an MP3 and FLAC version. Bleep claims that the MP3 version comes with artwork but someone told me it could hardly be called that. Best to shell out the extra $3 for the lossless.

There's a new interview on Barcode Zine - http://www.barcodezine.com/Autechre%20Interview.htm

Also wanted to brag that I've got my tickets for the Seattle show :D

No whining about US tour dates! They seem to be sub-google but here's where I found out about the tour: http://www.em411.com/forum/5534/2//autechre_US_tour_dates.html
Just find the city closest to you and then google it that + "autechre" + the date & venue, that's how I got mine anyway.

The UK tour is kicking off about 5 weeks earlier than the US tour. I think those dates are posted on their site, those should be easiest to find.

They'll probably be hitting Japan too, because they said they had a great experience there last time, though I have no idea how to find those tickets. If someone figures that out, they should post a comment about it here.

I love me some Bleep.com [07 Dec 2007|06:17pm]

caliprea
So this is slightly off-topic.

Just dled the new Clark EP from Bleep, as well as the latest Lusine album (Hymen) and an obscure Metal Beast EP from defunct (?) but once-great American label Isophlux. For less than $20. I'm thinking of going back and rounding out my Autechre/Gescom collection.

I loved OiNK, but it's nice to throw these guys some money once in a while.

Anything? [22 Dec 2006|11:27pm]

(a) Any Ae related news to share?

(b) What have you peeps been listening to lately?

I'm really enjoying (Chris) Clark's latest -- Body Riddle (Warp) -- as well as Wind and Water (n5MD) by American IDM/Leftfield duo Loess. The latter album is true to its title -- the subtle sounds and melodies sound like natural processes. Should definitely appeal to most Ae fans. And Clark's, well, is just insane and brilliant. A very maximal effort.

Synth-spotting... [16 Jul 2006|09:21am]

license
Autechre has implied in interviews that Cichlisuite contains large amounts of Nord Lead 1. If you've ever used a Nord, it's got a recognisable solid but dry and digital sound that's certainly present there. The first two tracks of Cichlisuite also feature the Yamaha RY30 drum machine with some very clever programming.

I could list a timeline with some examples of the waves but that might be tedious for people who don't care about synths or don't have an RY30.

I love Autechre and have formed a group in the spirit of Autechre which you can check out at http://www.myspace.com/syrfdraken .. not to spam, but if I knew of any artists like Autechre I'd love to check them out too, so does anyone have any projects or know any good groups that remind one of ae?
